Ok so i will do the pin test, is the general concensus that thethe clips are in the correct position?
Also is it a good idea to put hondabond on the base gasket?

Hondabond and yamabond are more for engine cases. For example, the yz85 does not have a gasket in between the case so you yamabond to seal the cases. Most of the time I just use the base gasket as a dry gasket. I have only had to use sealant a few times on a base gasket. Once was on a yamaha breeze but other than that it is pretty much a dry gasket install. Now I do use copper coat on head gaskets on BBK's for dirt bikes but your head gasket will also go on dry.

So customs sent my Hondabond back to america.
ha. ha.
So im waiting on permatex grey before i can seal up the gear case and Intake manifold.
recieved my new front panel today and added a little decal.
that is all the progress for now but im hoping to have her started up for the first time this weekend! eek.
Also, i did the screwdriver test on the pin and put decent pressure and nothing moved so im going ahead bravely.

i think the stock starter just got the power to turn over such a beast.
on the plus side my TTO gauge arrived so i can now monitor temps!
2min heat cycle tonight then 5min cycle tommorow.

Meant to ask, is that rear shock you have fitted the one that sits close to the back wheel or did you source another?

It is, i will go for my first ride this weekend and check the tyre out to see how bad the rubbing is.
so today i cut the back fender off and reinstalled all the fairings and installed the new TTO gauge.
compared with out she looked when i got her its a world of difference.
very happy with tto gauge and left it on farenheit reading so the forum temps would mean something to me.
here is a video showing the temp rising rate for the 5-10 minute heat cycle.

build is going to take a while longer.
it seems the clutch must be super worn and slipping, it takes full throttle just to move at all.
i have checked the slide and its opening perfectly with the throttle.
i also need to source a rear brake spring since i must have lost it.
