Honda Spree Conversion to Nifty 50 Style "Sprifty"

Post by jerz40 »

Hi everyone!
Thought I would share my recent Honda Spree conversion into a Nifty 50 Style to what I call the "Sprifty". Building this bike up was alot of fun, and took alot of patience to customize the wire harness to make the Nifty Speedometer work with a USA Spree electrical system. The bike is a 1984, but it's running with a 1986 spree motor since I wanted it to have more speed, as I've notice the 84-85 models to all be slower. The bike has been completely repainted with Krylon Super Maxx Spray Paint (Which does a really good job) and the frame was sand blasted and painted "Red" just like they are overseas. My top speed is 50km (About 31mph). I'd like to give a shout out to Ultraliner here on hondaspree.ent for helping me get the parts from overseas. He's a great guy to deal with and I really appreciate him helping me with this! Thank you Ultraliner! Without you this Sprifty wouldn't be in my garage! Enjoy everyone!

Greetings:

I really like the Sprifty! That is one beautiful and stock-looking paint job; obviously a lot of love went into it. I can see the red frame and fork legs. Great touch! More pics please!

But Quick!! Somebody get Jerz some side-cover stickers that say "Sprifty"!

In case you didn't know, the 1989 Elite "ES" has the Spree engine with a little better intake, reed valve and pipe. Stock examples have been reported to go 35 MPH. The intakes show up here occasionally. But sometimes 31 is just fine.

Thank You Wheelman!
I really appreciate your response! I would LOVE to get some side stickers that say "Sprifty", would really finish it off! Thanks for the info too on the Elite ES Motor, I will haft to try one of those in my next Sprifty build! Believe it or not tho, I am actually offering the Sprifty for sale. As I have several other Hondas and plan on building more Spriftys and figured I would let someone else enjoy this awesome bike. So if anyone may be interested, just let me know! Thank You! :)

Greetings:

It appears to be On the Market. Good luck with sale. That's one fine Sprifty that may fetch your price.

LOL! At first I didn't know what you guys meant by "Duck & Goose", until I remembered that bird being in the background! That bird was actually made by a family member at a craft show years ago! He's pure cement and been sitting there for years! When the holidays are around like the 4th, Halloween, or Christmas we dress him up in a hat or something  But if you really would like one, go to eBay and type in: "Blow Mold Goose", I saw one on there for pretty cheap, of course plastic, but they're well made. Thanks everyone! :)
