This is my new build for the month i decided to make a rat rod scoot from spare parts i had. Its a 78 express 50 frame, an 88 SA50 Elite engine. Ill post some progress pics but heres the general idea of what im going for...

Heres what i did so far this week.
Disassemble the entire engine
Clean out and reseal the crankcase
Deleted the oil pump, going to premix
Install Milossi reduced gears
Re sealed the gear cover
Deleted the oem variator back cover
Sand and smooth out variator cone
Installed 6 gram rollers
Cleaned up clutch pads
Installed the bbk
New belt
New performance cdi
Installed handlebars and throttle from 88 sa50
Installed a front frame mounted gas tank
Installed front wheel and brake from 90 sb50p
Installed rear wheel from 88 sa50
Installed handlebar mount speedo
Installed a front head light
Ordered light switches
Ordered new foot pegs
Ordered new mirrors
Ordered new led brake light and indicators

What i have to figure out now is how to make the engine mount work and get a longer rear shock to fit the legnth
I have a harness from a sa50 and a sb50p so i will have to decide what one i will use.

I am smoothing down all the rust spots and going to clear over the original paint to give it the rat rod look.

Can you post an update picture with all of the things currently installed?

I will as soon as im done clear coating the body, im in the process of prepping everything for paint today
