Some updates.....

I checked the engine for air leaks and found one on the intake that was sealed from the factory (never opened). I guess I will open it up and seal it once it warms up. Pumped the case to 6psi and it dropped to 5psi over a 5 minutes. Got some parts to finish the lower front fork today. I am going to see what it takes to mount the stock fender or possibly run something different.

Next step is the handlebar setup, I have some ideas in mind but not set on a setup yet.

Fixing air leaks is simple as pie..FINDING air leaks is the tricky part and can be endlessly frustrating. Brand new, even high quality parts have been known to sometimes leak. Nice work in going the extra mile to pressure test before you waste days/weeks trying to tune a motor with an unregulated amount of air entering the cylinder. So many people just slap together a motor and never check. Your build looks nice and Im envious of your progress. Keep giving updates along the way!

Dry fitting the parts tonight… I found out a metro stem is too narrow for a NCY front wheel so I am going to give the NCY stem a try. It is right in between the Metro and Ruckus, this is what I found.

All measurements are center to center on the legs.

Metro 6-1/8” EDITED!

NCY Elite 6-1/8” EDITED!

Ruckus 7-1/8”

 I'm pretty sure I have a metro stem that is the same width as the NCY elite stem. Your NCY is over an inch wider? :surprise: I will check again to be sure
BTW your build is boss! Nice n clean :thumbwink:

I don't have it yet but that is what SSS measured.

Getting the bars together, still looking for a round 3-4" headlight is a housing.

Thank you for the photos, looks like the metro and NCY measure the same. Back to the drawing board, Below is a print with the dimensions of the wheel setup. You can see my rotor is going into the leg .09in. I either need a wider triple or move the rotor in towards the wheel but might run into caliper clearance.

:thumbwink: Some aftermarket rotors/forks require some clearance grinding of the fork body. Especially a floating-type rotor. I have personally had to do minimal clearance grinding on oem style forks for a rotor to fit correctly and have not had any adverse consequences. Even with the ruckus stem you may have to grind to achieve the proper alignment for the rotor to spin freely without binding in the caliper. According to my estimation, the fork to wheel distance would not change by switching the stems alone. Possibly some shims could be used to adjust distance of caliper from the fork if you used a ruckus stem and spaced it accordingly? Ultimately, you would want the wheel to mount in the center of the stem for riding straight. I hope this can help you find your solution!

After some time mocking the wheel up I found out it will fit with some modifications. I need to mill some material off the rotor mounting surface and I will be in business.

Nice work! I just hope the caliper clears the rim of the wheel..... If you find that the ncy legs are still not short enough, you can use a dio zx (af28 or af35) stem. It is same as the metro stem except the lower tree is kinda upside down....making the wheel ride closer up to the frame by an inch and a half +, and the bearing race is the same as an Elite sa50

It fits! I ended up milling 0.180" off the rotor mounting face. It's a tight fit but happy I didn't have to go with the Ruckus stem.

I think the front is pretty much done (still waiting on a headlight), I still have some small items to finish up. In the other news it warned up a bit, so I could got for a quick ride and finally take her out of the garage for a photo.
