Honda Lead NH50

Post by Alen »

Hello,

I have bought this Honda Lead last week over here in Czech Republic.

I have done the registrations, bleed the oil pump, install a new battery and It seems that everything works great so far.

But... May I have few questions 🙏

1. I dont really know what bike it is and what kind of parts ll fit on it. In paperworks there is written Lead NH50 AF01 (AF15).

So I assume that parts from Dio AF16 wont fit.

2. Scooter needs a new pipe. I wonder if i can fit Dio Tecnigas pipe if reweld it a little. What do you think?

3. If i do some mods I believe that I ll have to adjust oil pump somehow. Yes?

4. And last question is that im missing metal shrouds around cylinder... Do i really need it? Can i ride without it?

Thank you for any help 😁
Regards from Prague

Bud, you've got to make a special adapter to get that to work properly. Those cases are aluminum so I would really sit down and draw up a plan so that mount that will do the job you are gonna ask it to do. It might be easier than I think it will be but I know it has probably been done before. Good luck with that!

No info available as far as I know.
You are in the region of untested waters.
Plenty of engine swaps have been done,
but your particular situation and model are not known in the USA.

Thank you guys for response. I took old engine out and it doesnt look too bad.

Only bad thing is a wheel. Ill have to use Dio rear wheel and not the "rotary" wheels from NH. There is different offset and also NH wheel has thicker midle section and than there are almost no threads left.

And the engine... ill have to use Dio shock and make some engine mount. I tied to make one from original Dios mount but it hits the frame.

Before i mount the engine i want to order some tecnigas exhasut so i could move engine back if it d be needed. Here are some pics

Guys, dont you have recommendation for big bore kit please.

That pipe should be fine for 70cc kit. But to be honest those 120cc kits from twh are pretty appealing.

But over here i can choose from Polini Contesa/Corsa, Malossi and aluminium Athena.

Malossi is cheapest from these.

And also i have bought CT intake and fake 19mm PHBG.

Thanks :)))

Well, I dont have a spark. I have kept old wiring, coil, cdi and connect engine wires with rest by colours.

Ill have to look to the manual and compare these two scooters.
