I've had a serious offer to purchase this Spree so I think I'll back up a step and put the stock exhaust back on and set the ratio up to make it a nice solid 30-32mph scoot. Like all of us I have too many projects and not enough time or money. Now I'll be able to get back to the Pal and see how much farther I can push it.

would you recommend the exhaust and intake port mods? i have an extra cylendar to try it out on

The exhaust port mod is highly reccomended. On these cylinders the exhaust port is very small and the port timing is very conservitive. I posted a writeup on how to do it that should still be around. One important thing is to come in with the stones through the exhaust outlet and not from the piston side.

Hey Keith,
First off, I have to say thanks for all your work. I love the documentation, graphs, scientific approach, creativity, etc. etc. It took me a couple pages to figure out that you're a retired man (engineer?) and not some 14yr old with some of dad's tools.
I see that you sold the test mule, which makes me sad, but I feel like there's not a real conclusion/summary to all your work and research. I understand you have 25 projects going on (much like myself) and you suffer from CFS, which must suck, but when you're feeling up to it, or want to put some closure to this subject, I just want to let you know that it would be appreciated and noticed.
So today I'm picking up another Red Spree. I have a garage full of tools, a dangerous enough knowledge on how to use them, and the willingness to follow in your footsteps. I always like a project, and my first spree is lacking a title, plate, etc. so I think it's the perfect test mule for me to experiment on. I'd love to do some grinding, and I'd love to build a tuned pipe too.
