The belt drive cover was designed for safety and a Sanitary look. Also to keep kids' fingers from being severed. While the cover works OK with a 4-horse powertrain pushing it a little above 35, I do believe the cover is best left off for speeds you're now reaching. That's very impressive, by the way. What a difference a clean belt and 7&6 Grammies make. (I had 8&9grams before)
I will soon put a new belt, and bring down the carb C clip.
We have yet to see a really sunny day. I will have to keep the cover on because of rain. (will make the belt slip).
the met hub works great. I will never go back to stock spree brakes. ( They just don't stop at that speed.)
