yeahbradley- DioSpreeee
Hey everyone. I'm Brad. I come from a mostly moped backround. Had a few vespas so I'm familiar with modding 2 stokes, CVT transmissions, ect.
I currently have 2 sprees. Just picked up one with an Af16e swap! So excited for this build, but a lot of work is still needed. Ill post up progress here. Look forward to chatting with some of you about these rad machines.

Welcome. AF16 Sprees are a lot of fun. Had one many years ago. The front shock was a little prone to bouncing when taking turns at speed. Made for more fun.
First couple mods I'd humbly suggest is putting on an air filter and new rear tire. Sky's the limit on AF16 mods.

Re: yeahbradley- DioSpreeee
Thanks guys.
A lot of work ahead of me on this thing. The swap was done poorly. More than a few missing bolts, fairly incomplete, brakes hardly working, ect. I want this thing to be FAST. Corsa kit, race crank, gearing. But in the meantime just going to get it running in stock form.
Eventually the a full teardown and to reinforce the frame and powdercoat. Also all new seals beaeings and gaskets. But for now I collect parts, not much physical progress made.
Aquired almost a full extra motor for parts, that will be built on the side. Also have the yellow molassi contra spring, and a v8 pipe (but will probably upgrade to something else)

Re: yeahbradley- DioSpreeee
My only protest is...
SAVE THE SPREE!!!
Ain't nothing wrong with a good engine swap, but any time I see plastics damaged, I weep a little and think... UGH!!! Someone could have used that panel or swapped you for one damaged in the area you are gonna cut!!
I believe hopped up Sprees should either retain all plastics, or go BOBBER.. But that's me.
Otherwise, nice bike, and

I totally understand what you are saying, why kill an inevitably dying breed. But these plastics aren't as good as they might appear. Most of the clips are broken. I plan to powdercoat the frame as a preventative thing and also for a bit more structural stength. The rest of the bike will still be ratty looking though.

Re: yeahbradley- DioSpreeee
love the carb cutout. looks raw af! nice fit w motor and panels overall, for the sweet sleeper effect. good going
projects galore
Re: yeahbradley- DioSpreeee
I highly suggest getting an air cleaner on there. I didn't put a air cleaner on my carb the first time I rode it after I installed my first bbk. A 6mm nut rattled loose off something and got swallowed by the carb and made it into the case by the crank. Destruction ensued.

The carb has an air filter, just not pictuted. Thanks for the concern
Re: yeahbradley- DioSpreeee
Yup no prob... I had a bell mouth on mine too, probably helped the sucking action that killed it haha. I was about to strap on the air filter too, but it sounded and looked so cool I couldn't help myself. Won't happen again hah.
Re: yeahbradley- DioSpreeee
That looks good. It still has the small footprint of a spree. That's what I'm hoping to do.
I agree with Mr. Clark about keeping it a spree but when your plastics are wrecked you may as well do what you need to with it.

My favorite thing about the spree is the small footprint. It actually fits fully assembled into my civic shown in the pictures haha.
