The PG Short isn't all that loud compared to some pipes I've had. I don't have a dB meter to be certain, but the Fab chamber WITH its oversized fake-carbon fiber muffler does seem even quieter. I did fire it up withOUT that muffler for a moment as I was fitting the pipe to my skirted Elite and DANG that was Stupid-loud. I can say for sure there's no baffling whatsoever in its curvaceous chamber section,
FabPipeSide.jpg
and the U-shaped pipe leading to the muffler section doesn't do much to suppress the pops. Not to worry, my tinnitus has almost gone away after a week.

I don't know about Kiwi "NeighboUrs", but getting into Noise Wars with wholesome American Neighbors is always a bad idea.
Thanks Wheelman.
I notice the fabrizi pipe has the exhaust exit facing down. that mite help with noise?
as far as my neighbors they are retired. I have to respect them.
my garage sits back between the two houses ,and echoes all the noise.

I did test a rubber hose facing down on the PG pipe. like your fabrizi. and it was quieter.
the hose did get hot, so I ended up putting back the stock pipe.
I may have to make a S extension for the PG short. I will probably some lose power.
But again I have to respect my neighbors.
hope you get your hearing back soon. lol.

Greetings:

Except for a couple of Taiwanese "Full-Racing" pipes with the muffler tacked inline behind the chamber, all the street Chamber pipes I've seen have a recurved pigtail section to support the muffler. It never occurred to me that pointing the outlet at the ground would attenuate the noise, but I guess it does, as well as keeping rain out of the muffler. Tacking an open right-angle outlet onto a PG Long might help a little, but doubt it would very much. Adding an additional muffler would probably help a lot if you can do it. I'm not sure how much it would affect power, maybe not much?

Easiest way to find out is try it, but generally every mm is accounted for on 2 stroke exhaust. The worse that will happen is you'll take it back off. Any update on top speed?

Greetings:

The PG Long is a pretty good pipe. Whatever happens inside the can will still happen. Adding a muffler to quiet the sound out the stinger probably won't affect that much, as long as the flow area for escaping spent gases isn't restricted. The challenge might be to mount a fairly large muffler can securely on the Fragile-ish PG structure. That pipe ain't exactly built like a tank...

No real updates lately, but I installed my new Malossi belt from RedEft a couple of weeks ago. I really can't explain why - and welcome any input - but it was the most tangible performance improvement I've felt in a while. The engine power seems to just sling forward so much more sharply than it did with the Met belt I'd been using. Maybe that 28 degree angle (versus the Correct 30 degrees...) was costing me more slip than I'd figured. Whatever it is, Malossi rocks! I plan to reprogram the TrailTech Vapor according to the reading I get from Garmin-Girl, mounted side-by-side.

So Wheelman right now, what do you think about the MHR vs the Fabrizi BBK?

Greetings:

I never took enough time to fine-tune my MHR. It was getting faster, but several possible impediments prevented it from Being All It Could Be. Wrong gears, possibly wrong belt, PG Short pipe which was well-matched with the 71-MPH Corsa but didn't feel as crisp with the MHR. The Fabrizi feels a little stronger everywhere, perhaps the result of its 12% displacement advantage alone. Malossi products are reputed to be durable - I've never had one fail despite some tuning risks. The Fabrizi lifespan is unknown but no problems within the conservative break-in period and ~75 miles I've run it so far.

Side-by-side, the better-tuned kit would prevail. The Malossi is certainly capable of the Holy Grail of 72MPH. I'm pretty sure I won't see 81 with the Fabrizi. But with even Decent tuning, both are plenty-quick in traffic and for sure can run 60 all day long. Or at least until their thirsty natures drain the fuel tank.

Thank you WM. I was also going to ask about the fabrizi BBk. and how it's holding up for durability. please keep us posted.
I will be looking at the fabrizi BBk if the corsa ever fails.

The Corsa's hard to kill too. I had to feed mine a carb needle C-Clip before it failed...

Greetings:

On my last ride, TrailTech Vapor showed Max temp was 374. Graphite has my Gratitude, eternally, for turning me on to this incredible device. I don't see the Fab failing any time soon. It's sipping a 50/50 mix of Premium and LL100 AvGas for now, but with its modest 148PSI compression, I'm seriously considering avoiding the hassle of night trips to the County Airstrip and running just Premium.

Glad to hear, I am at a standstill but leaning toward the MHR. But this build is making me think of trying the fabrizi

IMO the premium would be great. I heard C clip bullets are bad for our health...
