Been extremely busy with work, but since the last post, I've been working on cleaning up some aero stuff on the scooter. Building a fairing that should help out a bit. Also picked up a sidecar wheel fairing from a Cessna 172 airplane that fits perfectly over the sidecar wheel. It's not Formula 1 but is a big improvement and based on NACA airfoil design.

It does really well for about 8-10 seconds then it tarts to ice up the reeds. This is due to the jet location between the manifold and the reeds. I found that I can bump the n2o for a few seconds on and off and it does fine, just not for long continuous runs.1man8scoots wrote:How did it like the n2o?
I may relocate it under the reeds, but low priority.
High priority now is getting the fairing done so I can b ready for Bonneville in August.
Oh also I now have a little turbocharger to try out.......

Awesome build! Read the whole thing, looks like a blast with a lot of hard work involved. Just saw the picture of you riding it, any possible way you could position your feet back so you can tuck more and get your head down to about the bar height? Maybe pick up another mph?
Goodluck with everything!

Re: Sidecar Bonneville Land Speed Elite 50 build
Bonneville Speedweek was cancelled for the second year in a row. Ugh!!
I will have plenty of time to get the new bodywork done and figure out how to make the turbo work....

That's way too cool! Put a fan in front of it so you can say you did wind tunnel testing!

Look up high gain tuning, the guy is super nice and extremely fluent in turbo charging a 2t scooter. Really really nice guy.Revolutionary wrote:Bonneville Speedweek was cancelled for the second year in a row. Ugh!!

Re: Sidecar Bonneville Land Speed Elite 50 build
Pulled off the mold for the rear part today. Kinda ugly as the resin seeped past the gel goat on one side (yellow wrinkles). It is a learning process. The second side looks pretty good. In all it is a usable mold. Now by the time I am pulling the final parts from the mold I should have learned by my mistakes along the way how to get a good part.
