Re: winter build

Post by Wheelman-111 »

Greetings:

The engine won't gin up RPM if the pipe is strangling it, regardless of roller weight. It might have good low-end, but a stock pipe won't support higher engine speeds particularly if gutted and kinked. Maybe someone has a nice V8 for sale?

Greetings:

Right! Sorry I forgot it was an 05 block. LeoVince from Eft?

The pilot along with the main should be considered rich. Warmer and better running with the needle lowered will confirm. 230 is much too cool. What fuel/oil?

once again its your exhaust holding you back. Why must you modifiy the stock exhaust? gutting it is a bad idea you have now killed all the back pressure .Get a new pipe stock or aftermarket.the aftermarket would be the best for what you want your motor to do.

Yes the tip is larger but it also has a massive chamber that produces massive back pressure .your stock pipe HAD a ti y section allowing back pressure but you cut all this out then added a bigger exit point so now even less back pressure .You might as well run a strait pipe. You wanted help and wonted to know why you cant get over 7500rpm Well you have been told but you wont listen .The first aftermarket part you bought should have been a pipe But noooo you wanted bigger cc thinking that alone would make you faster .You cant go put big race cams in a motor without modifing other components to get full potential from the cams .I think you need to sit down and have a read of the jennings 2 stroke book maybe you will listen to the experts.

the pipe was crush at that end of the pipe.... i no 2 strock need back pressure.. the head pipe is larger then the tip ... the massive chamber mak a pressure waves in the pipe so it pulls fresh gas through the jug and the pressure wave push it back in the jug ... wright???

Greetings:

It is NOT about back "pressure". It is about matching shapes and dimensions to the engine's displacement and optimum RPM. The pressure WAVE returns at precisely the right moment to stuff a puff of escaping fresh mixture back into the combustion chamber just before the port closes. Only then she sings her best.

Last set of jets I bought came out of Taiwan they showed up about 2 weeks later but they showed up lol. For the pipe the sp3 would be a great choice. Maybe talk to graphite9 I'm pretty sure he can get one for you maybe even redetf. Not sure on a price though. I've sold all my stock pipes but I'll keep an eye open for ya.
