That was my thought for trying the 21mm. But I would love to have the full rip- ability of the the larger carb. I may play a bit once I get going. I may also get a second stand alone vacuum petcock and run the oil tank as a reserve tank. The oil low light would tell me when it was low. ;-)
I run a 26mm round slide carb and love it. But I have not tried any other to compare to. I have a 24 and a 21 waiting and a few different scooters to put them on. But each one will run a different BBK so it will be hard to compare. I have a feeling the 24 will be about perfect for ripping through town. The 26mm is always thirsty.

Hi PTSG.
I can go about 22miles @ WOT with the AF16 stock carb. and spree gas tank.
the 24mm oko was thirsty. the 2.5 liter gas tank did not keep up for me at WOT.
the 24mm had good throttle response. the stock carb doe's not.
I like to try the 21mm oko carb, or get a bigger gas tank. and use the 24mm oko.
hope this helps. :thumbwink:

Crank seals for the af18 are on the seat of the van waiting for me to get. Home to install them. I'm at the DMV now with the paper work for my antique motorcycle plate for the spree thats getting the af18. So exciting no more motor vehicle inspections for that scooter :ndance:

Hi PTSG. most of my trips are 15-22 miles one way and it can get annoying stopping for gas all the time with the 24 mm carb although the performance is great on the 24. I have to use this stock carb with a bigger pilot jet for now so I don't burn so much fuel. eventually ill end up getting a bigger gas tank because I do like the throttle response on the 24 mm carb.

Well I got the wiring on the af18 harness out fitted with the proper connectors to match the spree harness. I got it right it seems because it has spark. It's really easy all of the colors match up ;-). Now I need some the shock bolt and longer lines for the fuel and vacuum. Have to run brake and throttle. Then I'll be ready to fire this beast

Yes fuel filter is a great idea iI'll grab one when I get fuel lline. I had it fire up and idle with a carb on it and some fuel in the cylinder. What a glorious sound that arrow pipe is. I can't wait for tomorrow. I should be out riding in the afternoon. Two questions what is a good jetting starting point for that 28mm carb? And graphite9 what was the mix ratio you were running on that mhr top end so I can continue where you left of with it. :-) I'm in the home stretch now.

Thanks my man I'm sea level downtown and a little above here at home. I'm glad I have the large range main jet set coming in the mail. My current set only goes to120 main so untill they arrive no ripping for me lol. Golf cart away to the mail box I go maybe they have arrived. ;-)
