Wheelman Razor-Sharp Reflex (Stupid-Big Pics Fixed)

Post by Wheelman-111 »

Greetings:

Scored an affordable 2002 ride for trips away from Deepinnaharta.

It's a bit of a pig off the line, and at 375+ Pounds it's understandable. However it ran an indicated 74 going Upwind into a stiff southerly, with some variator tuning to address and a replacement for the 13 year-old belt. I drove over 100 miles pulling the covered trailer to New Braunfels.

It has 3400 miles.

So far changed the oil, ordered an air filter and some vario rollers and for now a Gates belt. Graphie says he can get the Malossi items for the belt case, so I'm saving my Vital Organs even more...

Hi wheelman. nice reflex.how's the seat? Looks like someone removed a little foam from it.
these are very comfortable scooters.
I did see a sale on the Givi windshield $104 online

Seat seems fine. Link me to that $104 Givi Windshield? This thing sat in the Texas sun too long.

Also I would go with polini as the malossi junk wears out too quick I've been told by everyone who uses it on these. 3k miles out a vario is a no go for me.

hey Mr love. You are right the seat does look modified. And the sport windshield does look sharp.
the Givi windshield might be too tall for the southern states? I wonder if it can be cut lower and add a edge trim?
just thinking of an idea if you can't find a windshield?
Wheelmam, maybe you can buff the one you have?

I'll try the malossi set up, hope for the best with a full complete set up and not just the vario.

Greetings:

The saddle looks like someone did trim it down for whatever reason? Lower stance, perhaps? Anyway, it's not Honda-tight but looks acceptable to me and sits just fine. I wonder if Corbin makes a substitute?

Lots of nicks and scratches, but Color-Rite paint pens are on the way for $40. I got the RevZilla Givi shield, thanks, Ped! Tall is fine - the Texas State Bird is the Mosquito.

The only worrisome issue is a low groan from the left side when accelerating full-throttle between 40 and 50. Dry belt or clutch issue will be sorted out when I have time to crack the cover. Stately ride, all the way to 74 (indicated) going up against a stiff wind, not bad. Certainly not a fire-breather but should run a long time - 3150 miles on it - if I said 3400 before I mis-stated.

Does Malossi claim it fits Reflex only, or also Big Ruckus?

Greetings:

First I have to see if I can live with the Givi. I had zero luck finding an aftermarket shield that resembles the Sport model or at least splits the difference, but after riding the stocker I find I could get used to wind protection. Anyway, I'll see if the stocker can be restored, but sun-brittled plastic - it doesn't look like just surface marring - may be challenging to restore. I'll try some of that headlight restoration compound and maybe heat as a last resort.
