hi forum.
still tuning, but took the spreedio for a 22 mile ride.
this motor is fast! plenty of power, at half throttle it just takes off.
I was riding with a friend that has a 90 cc ruckus clone. and I know it goes over 60 mph. on the open road I left him a mile behind. Lol. he was surprised, so was I.
tuning takes time which I don't have much of. But I'm very close to getting it perfectly tuned.
I may post some videos? or maybe GPS top speed. will keep you posted.
:peace:

Hi.I still have to take it easy, Plus not too many places to do a high speed test. I did get a chance to open it up on a straight Road I did not have the GPS with me if I were to guess I only went about 65 mph. still tuning to get it to 70 +.

Hi forum.
I have a motor noise on 50mm. :surprise: i don't know if it's piston slap or what? noise is like a tick. :x please check video noise starts at 14 sec.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRiS1CbVTmE

The compression is around 220psi. I'm also using 100 octane racing fuel. Squish it is at 1.2
I did remove the head to check the piston and the bore everything looks good. No dents or scratches. Motor has about 150 miles.
The motor runs great, and has power. 65+mph.
any advice would be greatly appreciated. :thumbwink:

Greetings:

Yikes!! That works out to 15:1 compression ratio. This is in Diesel territory (14 to 22:1). Unlike Herr Diesel's engines however, the top-end bearing may not be up to the task of supporting that level of compression for very long. I'd suspect a little slop has developed in the little end, maybe the crank end as well. This can be checked and compared to FSM specs.

Thanks Wheelman.
I did a search before posting and came up with ring wear, piston slap. all were associated with high mileage . I'm still confused because I have low miles.
I took it apart and everything looks good. Everything seems very tight.
My best guess would be Rings did not seat properly?

I'll take care of that compression right away.
When all else fails use a repair manual. thanks Wheelman. I need to know those specs

Thank you Mr G. Definitely changing out the piston and rings.
I believe, I didn't do the "important" proper heat cycling and breakin.
It's not good to be in a rush. to see how fast it will go. Proper braking will save your cylinder or piston.

Hi forum.
Turned out the motor noise, was it had waaay too much compression.
motor runs really good. it does get a little hot at wot.
