Older aero crankshaft into spree?

Post by Ruckenstein »

Just wondering if anyone has ever tried to take the old crank out of a first gen aero and slap it into a spree motor. I'm currently swapping an aero 80 motor into a first gen aero and have a bad motor sitting.

Haven't tried it yet. Is it an ab07 or af05e aero?

Greetings:

AF05 Aero shared the same bore & stroke dimensions with the Spree, obviously with differences in the output end of the crankshaft. However the AF07 early Aeros had a nearly-square 40 x 40 bore/stroke, so my guess is there's not chance it'll fit without mods to the cylinder base gasket and port timing. On the other hand, you'd have a mini-stroke Spree. Another Forum First!

I really love this thread! I totally love when people ask qiestions of this nature. These kinds of threads really push the boundaries of what we have seen and done already. Great stuff!
