Temporary Paint help (peelable)

I have decided to use temporary paint til I'm ready to do a maaco drop off.


Here's my plan, white and silver for body/trim and gold paint on rims the rim paint is a sure so I got that covered with perminant paint.


Anyone here think grease and wax removal with peelable paint over the old plaint should be enough.


Who has had succession here with temp paint with duplicolor at az.

Go to a place in seattle (or bellevue) called Tapp plastics. Composite, plastic, and resin specialists. I used to go there alot back when I was doing custom install work, these guys have all kinds 9f stuff that'll work on your plastic like bondo does metal but better. Then you can paint it after you get it all nice n smooth. And something called "poly primer" is really cool for amateur body work, it's really thick primer you sand down like thin bondo.

Got the number? Inbox BTW I posted the paint colors above decided to wait on the painting I need overcoat sounds simple for now 40.00 to paint over is my budget + fixing damages.

Another tip is curts autobody on sunset in renton, look on the shelf for cans of "bumper coat" you can sometimes find a few different metallic greys and silvers, and it lays down well for spray paint.

Why not do it right the first time? Seems like a lot of work for a few panels. I'd either wait or do it right the first time.

Ya, I wouldn't try to do a 'temporary' job, just sand it down and prep the surface right. You don't have sand it all the way down, just smooth it out and rough up the surface for the new coat. The spray paint you get at an autobody store is of higher quality than normal hardware store stuff, and easier for guys like me to use and get good results. But be prepared to spend $10-$20 on a can haha. You can get a spray gun for "kinda" cheap, and do a pro job, but that's goin a little far imo.

That's $9.99 at a pawn shop gun = more paint easier.

Ya, but you gotta mix it yourslef, and make sure your aircompressor has an oil trap,etc...

It's probably better to use a paint gun, but it's too much accessories needed for me haha.

I was going to invest in an electric one, but since it just have to be smooth a rattle can will work fine if I paint I'll need about 3-4 coats of paint with the 4th or 5th to be clear coat.


May do a water effect job green and white + water = black dropplets.

One thing ive learned when doing spray paints is to heat up the surface and hit it with excess amounts and wet sand it with a high grit after 5 good cots then clear coat, wet sand, clear coat wet sand, repeat uptil it looks like factory. Ive painted so much, it all maters on the clear coat to protect the paint.

^^yup. Get a good thick coat (or many coats)w/o letting it run then wetsand down later, looks like a show car if ya do it right. I like to leave the cans under running hot water for awhile before with use em, less globbing when you spray.

Its helps to run more exspensive paint under hot water if you gonna just grab walmarts cans then just spray and wetsand with a very very high grit. Or find a color you like on a car and buy that from cans at autozone.

I plan on just doing it this spring/ summer so time i have it has to stand out for its size.

Buy reflective metalic paint and give it a light over coat of the color you want and wet sand it and clear coat it and you will have a very reflective bike if thats what your asking.
