Littlesprite wrote:Hot d*** that's a lot of SPREE ACTION! Really inspires me to restore mine. I think a lot of the parts on mine are stock, so I'd try to keep it that way. Though the carb and I think the starter are giving out. How much did all this cost you dude? For one maybe not too much, that's really some impressive project planning. I can barely finish repairing a turn pair of pants. My hat is off to you! Can't wait to see even more. And please tell me you will ride them like a giant spree army!

:D Oh yeah there are always lots of Sprees at my house to work on! I did this the most cheapest way I could, I'd say I have a little over a thousand into it. The most expensive transactions of all were the new tires and the sand blasting. Other than that the rest wasn't too bad. I highly recommend to everyone to do the same to their spree like I did all mine, really makes em look soooo nice! And also puts 30 more years of life into em! :wink

Somewhere on every Spree you restore, you should put a signature or stamp/marking of some kind to identify it was a jerz job. Like an artist signs a painting. 30yrs from now you'll randomly see a Spree somewhere and see your name on a frame tube and know it was one of yours. Number them too!

Wow, that's a great idea Meatball! I think I'm gonna haft to do that! :D That'd be so cool if I actually someday find that spree I restored again!

Im thinking if you were going to keep doing this it would be much more cost effective to invest in your own sandblaster. They have those pop-up tents to blast in and you can just wear a cheap-o tyvek suit with a respirator mask. Since youll be needing something big enough for a frame, the little sandblasting boxes wont cut it. Also maybe a paint sprayer and buy paint by the bucket. Get a decent air compressor to use for both.

Man, I wonder how tough it would be to ship you this Spree I have.

Yes I'd love my own Sandblaster! The guy that does the blasting for me a few miles away can be pricey, and on occasion I'll have a part that need blasting, except taking just the one wouldn't be worth it. Now we do have a big air compressor, so that is something we may try out this winter for sure.

I'd take that Spree you have! :)
Just all depends on shipping, hmm.
