new to me spree with pics

Post by z50 chopper »

ok just picked up this 87 spree yesterday 400km round trip. I need to find a new right front turn signal and right rear turn signal lens and left front turn signal lens and a seat other than that it is complete and runs great. I also got a parts bike that was advertised as an 84 spree but turned out to be an NB50 Aero, but I can title it too. The spree cost $250 and the aero $50. The aero need side panels and a kick pedal.

So the 84 Spree that turned out to be an Aero...is it an 84' still? Makes a difference on the Aero since motor changes were made within those years.
I need to find some new haters...the ones I have are starting to like me.

ya it is an 84 Aero. I am used to buggering around with Honda minibikes like the Z50 and CT70 so this kinda venturing into new territory for me, I am hoping the same techniques I used for lowering them will work on the Spree and Aero.

That 1987 model in blue is a find... very desirable color not seen often.

I've gotten worse bikes than that Aero going. Good luck.

After seeing pics of an 86 NB50 Aero I am really liking the plastics on them. Also i can only seem to find 85-86 Aero plastics online, but can't find any lights.

Also how can a person get wider rims? Is there a model that has wider rims that is an easy swap?

took the spree for a boot around a parking lot, it now has a vote for engine swap.

I am looking on webike and it dawned on me that spree fork legs look a lot like honda z50 fork legs. I wonder if I can use z50 disk brake fork legs to add disk brakes to my spree and keep my plastics unmolested.

these are for brembo calipers

Would be an interesting swap to try out... if tubes are same diameter should be able to work the rest out.

gonna order the forks with caliper and rotor next week.

Now just need to find a disk brake front wheel. Does Dio or Metropolitan rims fit on a spree with no mods needed?

can a mod move this to build thread area?

I do not know the answer to the question you ask but I have a used silver dio front wheel for disc if you want to buy it let me know. It is straight and no dents/bends. The size is 10x2.15 tubeless. Please pm for details.

I was asking for the rear but I already got my answer for that. gotta do a dio engine swap. I might be interested in that rim. is the dio hub any wider than the spree hub?

Hi Z. met wheel too wide for spree forks. not sure on the dio wheel. elite wheel will fit with the 275-10 tire.
