I drilled holes in my duck bill fender and screwed it to that. That way you can still have a light on it. I went performance first then recently stretched 4 inches. Recommend a better shock if you stretch. Swapshops extension is solid and comes with what you need. Nice elite nice to see another black one and yours looks great.

Thanks I plan on doing some big upgrades soon!

I'm thinking about doing some performance mods, in particular a variator. Which vari would give me the best performance for the price: keli or polini? Also would a new belt help?

They say polini buuut i dont think its worth the extra buck vs Keli. Im using keli in my af16. And you can check your belt to see if it needs to be replaced.

Might be wrong but does the polini need some mod of the case to fit? Just something to think about. And a new belt is never a bad idea.

polini is best

then malossi

then keli and pg

the keli stuff is loosey goosey, and just a cheap part. to be honest so is the PG. Alot of shops push keli really hard because their margins are 100-200%. If you really need to stick to a budget, im sure you will be happy with a keli or pg. But yea, they do make a difference. Downsouthdio bought a daytona from me and swears by it. :)

i wouldnt worry about the belt unless you have over 4k miles on your bike.
Thanks for the reply. If I get polini variator, should I zip tie my oil pump open? I didn't do it when I derestricted my elite, but I've just been adding more oil to it and it seems to be running fine.

The only way to be certain that your mix is correct is to premix and eliminate the pump.

Is there anything else I could do other than premix?

For me it was simple once I went with a bigger cylinder kit I deleted the pump and went premix. I'd rather premix than have the 15 year old pump decide to not pump and seize. There is no guarantee the pump is working like it did when new. Why take the chance. It literally takes a few extra seconds to premix. I have an old baby bottle that has the ounces marked on the side that I keep full of oil.

You could buy a new pump (may be hard to find) and zip tie it to the full throttle position. It depends on your build, if you've got a serious build and an expensive bbk you might not want to risk it. The pump is really only nice cuz you can fill up at the pump w/o any extra stuff, but if your not commuting then it's not that hard to premix.

I ordered the polini variator. What roller combination should I use for it?

You should buy a tuning kit with lots of different rollers.

Polini variator came in today and I got it installed. Top speed close to 43mph now with everything still stock besides that.

Lol hey that's my elite!! I got that light from Brandon at SSS it was my first order from him ever. He used to have ones with clear turn signals and the amber as he does now. I chose the "clear corners"
