This build will have a Naraku Intake and a test fit is in order before continuing. Turns out, the Intake and Bore are simply too fat for each other fit happily. When pushed tight together the intake mounting bolts wont thread in. They needed a bit of grinding...Dremel, Where you at???

Intake and bore were installed after Dremel work with liberal amounts of Yamabond. Upgraded head studs were used over the weak stock bolts.

During jug install, base gasket thickness was determined and squish was checked after torquing down the matching 50mm head. After the motor is running, I may have to change head gasket thickness to obtain the ideal compression range. I realize this would change the squish but too high/low compression would be of higher importance. If squish is way off, I may need to mill the head or add gaskets to get it sorted.

Rear brake assembly, starter motor and Stator/flywheel installed. Crank oil seals greased and squeezed in to the proper depth. The 8.4:1 gears Ive chosen for this build will be pressed and installed in the next few days. Once the trans is sealed and filled I will move onto the vari/belt/clutch.

Bench testing compression. I have a few head gaskets of different thicknesses. I initially had installed the thinnest one of 0.38mm. Check pic for results..

Compression of nearly 140psi is unacceptable...need a thicker head gasket...I switched to the next thickest I had which is 0.5mm...results below

The head gasket of 0.5mm dropped compression from almost 140psi down to 130psi....getting better but still not there. Putting in the fattest one I have which is a full 1mm thick.

Greetings:

You can run compression at 140PSI, but pretty much only with Avgas or 110 Octane racing fuel... at least I did. See F7
