81 express sr brainstorm.... Advice and ridicule

So here is the deal. I have an express sr frame, seat and plastics, no motor, no triple tree or suspension. I also don't have any money or this would be easy.

What I do have is time and some left overs. I have two options for motors and you guys are going to hate them both. I can swap in a 50cc Honda ruckus GET (four stroke), or I can drop in a 125cc gy6 with a 6.5" wide rear tire, also a four stroke....

The ruckus motor would go in more easily and get me to 45mph no problem, while looking stockish.

The gy6 would get me to 60mph but would need a lot of work and 20lbs more steel added to the frame to keep it together.

I'm not sure what to do with the front end. I have a stock triple tree and forks from a ruckus but it is still riding a little high, would the front end out of a dio be a better idea? It needs to be sturdy

Before everyone gives me a bunch of crap for using a four stroke, I know it's wrong. So unless someone wants to gift me a decent two stroke with full wiring harness this is what I have.

Well there you have it. Please tell me why my plans are dumb and what I could do to make them less so, remember I'm on a budget.

If it were me, Id sell both motors to fund the purchase of an AF16. It being the dead of Winter...will be tough to get top dollar for them.

Take ^^ this question and create a post in the "Wanted / For Sale" category.
This will get you a FAR BETTER CHANCE of finding someone who wants to take that trade...

It was mostly a joke... I don't think anyone wants an old GET or I wouldn't have three of them on my shelf. As for the gy6, I have way too much time in it to let it go.

I'll be more clear next time

Coolio...you might try a search on this board and see what some other members have done with SR frames.
There have been a couple efforts that yielded good results... :urban:

What's the deal with the GY6 motor? Is it built? If so if use that, might as well haha. The ruckus motor wouldn't be a bad idea either. Are both motors water cooled? I think the ruckus is, but it's all self contained right? No external radiators to get in the way?

The gy6 has some minor mods but I've put a lot of time into building a turbo set up for it as well as making a wiring harness and collecting all the controls lighting rear suspension. It's really a whole scooter -frame

I think I'm going to use the Honda get motor though. Like you said it is nice and compact and I think it would look better in such a small scooter. The only problem is figuring out where to hide all the electrical. The ruckus wiring harness has a computer the size of a text book.

Oh ya that computer thing... How about a china-relli? Cheap and plentiful, and easy to find parts for. I actually have an extra short case lying around..
