ZX trans installation

Post by Cassb »

I just got a new ZX trans setup for my Honda Elite af16.
I know I need to clear the case to fit the rear pulley, but is/are there any tips or pointers how to set this trans up ?
...and get the gains expected out of it ?
I just want to do the installation correctly the first time.

The only gains you can expect from that setup are on the take-off. You should have modified the motor to be able to use taller gears and that would make use of the zx trans which helps on 7:1, 6:1 or higher gears. You can't run those gears without bbk and pipe, etc.....

The key IÔÇÖve found so far is shimming the variator so the belt rides on the boss. IÔÇÖm currently in the process myself after years of a stock pulley and it was night and day on take off. With a mismatched belt and no tuning. Get the right belt if you havenÔÇÖt already as thatÔÇÖs super important.
