I purchased a Honda Aero 50 1986
I replaced petcock, fuel lines, carb, spark plug, changed the oil, and installed a new battery.
I am able to get it started with a couple rounds of starting fluid and it stays on. I'm able to drive it around and it pulls me very well (I'm 6'3" and 300lb) got it up to 30mph and probably would have gone higher.
But when I turn it off and then try to turn it on again I have to repeat the process with the starting fluid. Am I missing anything?
(somewhat off a noob here)
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Re: 86 Honda Aero 50 starting issue (help)
If you replaced the carburetor with a Chinese clone, that would be the most likely reason for problems starting.
Those clones are notorious for problems, and usually give poor performance.
Probably the bystarter is bad.
