Does anyone know which if any side stand on the jiangwayne website will work for my 2001 elite S?

nope! those are for the jdm dio. you have to call the scooter/moped shops in hawaii for the sidestand for your bike. Moped company ,Glenns cycles, vt cycles, quick fix cycles. they run about $90+shipping for the bracket and leg.

does anyone try to custom a side stand, maybe get a bicycle side stand it make it fit onto the scooter

Sure, but the bicycle one failed quickly. I would go with a motorcycle one. You need to find out what lean angle you want the stand leg to swing at and then weld it. You can adjust the bike lean angle by cutting the leg shorter.

You must also brace it, the metal for the floor boards is very flimsy
