i just bought a 1985 honda spree scooter with alittle over 1,300 miles. it has clean gas, a clean carb (with clean jets) its getting spark and the engine is getting gas. it has a dead battery but im starting it manually with a electric drill. but the only problem is that it wont start!!!!? any ideas why? the engine turns over but wont even "pop" (if you know what i mean)
p.s when im starting it with the drill should i turn it clock wise or counter clock wise
(right now im trying to start it clockwise)

Should be counter clockwise. Are you holding the left brake lever when you try to start it?

I can't believe
that cop put me
in the backseat
when I clearly
called shotgun.
i have been turing it clock wise because thats the way the wheel turns and the flywheel and the sprocket so i think thats right and i tried the left brake and that didnt make a difference

I'm confused, clockwise would make the rear wheel spin in reverse....are you trying to start it from the flywheel side?

That makes sense! I've heard of people using a drill but i never needed to do it, i guess doing it on the belt side would end up loosening the crank nut. I'm out of ideas and need to go get my chinese food .
