carb question on 1985 spree

would i have to have a good battery for the electric choke on the carb to work even if im trying to start it with a drill ( using the flywheel )

The bystarter (choke) is run by AC volts from the alternator (stator).

they start up perfectly with a drill, just don't be stupid and use an impact like the guy that bought my old spree tried to do. :lol:
If it don't fit, force it. If it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyway.
