Fill in by-starter hole
Well my by starter is completely screwed It has no wires on it and it is busted all to * so I want to remove it and fill in the hole. So how do you think I should do it?
PS3 it only does everything.

Buying a new one may be your safest...and ultimately cheapest....alternative.

Re: Fill in by-starter hole
if you fill in the hole just how is it going to run while its warming up? think id find a new or used one. or you could get a manual choke like bear has.

Re: Fill in by-starter hole
My manual choke system only works on the Aero 80 (1983 thru 1985) and a couple of earlier model scooters that had the heat control vacuum bystarter. Oh and bystarter is one word, not two.

Re: Fill in by-starter hole
Well I filled both ends in. Haven't tested it yet because I am too lazy to put the air box back together and bolt the carb back on.

Re: Fill in by-starter hole
The bottom end I drove a nail into it a bit then cut it off flush with my scroll saw and the top part were the by starter goes I put the needle in and filled the hole with rtv silicone gasket maker(Both holes could be unplugged if I ever wanted to buy a new bystarter)dun rite wrote:Hello: what did you fill the holes with?

Re: Fill in by-starter hole
Well nice job, you have RUINED the carb because now another bystarter will not work on it.toad772 wrote:The bottom end I drove a nail into it a bit then cut it off flush with my scroll saw and the top part were the by starter goes I put the needle in and filled the hole with rtv silicone gasket maker(Both holes could be unplugged if I ever wanted to buy a new bystarter)dun rite wrote:Hello: what did you fill the holes with?

Well it's off to the Home Depot to pick up a box of 16 sinkers........I'll fix that d*** bystarter.......then I'm gonna ride out to the woods and irritate a bear with my pea-shooter......I'm pretty sure that will do it...........
