SYM DD50 help...

Post by HI808SYM »

I have a 2010 bone stock fully restriced SYM DD50. it just hit 1000 miles and i have a problem with it bogging out after stopping.

I just cleaned the carb and put some octane boost in but it still boggs out.

there is a small host that connects the carb. to the back side of the airbox. i found that if i plug that hole with a screw it doesnt bogg down anymore.

the bike runs fine and idles ok. the problem is when i hit a stoplight and ilde for a while it boggs out when i go to full throttle off the line. when i plug the hose (the one mentioned earlier) its dsoesn't die out but it seems like its a little flooded off the line.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

maybe just gotta clean the carb better?

did anything get disconnected from the engine? the dd50 comes with emissions setup so there is a cat in the muffler. if the egr or any of the emission stuff gets disconnected, the bike runs crappy.

checked the exhaust systems and everything seems to be connected and OK.

with the restrictors on where should the air screw be? the manifold hole is so little. would that mean i need to lean the mixture way out (4-5 turns) because of the restricted hole in the manifold?

usually around 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 turns out for the air/fuel screw. did you check the belt and rollers? pull the plug and see what color it is. also do a compression check to see where that is at. if you took the restrictors out, I hope you upjetted the carb to compensate?

when i turn them way out (3-4 turns) it seems to be able to rev higher. at 1 1/2 or 1/34 they dont rev as high

as long as its above 120psi. check to see if the airfilter is dirty and check the airbox inlet to see if something is clogging it.

if your planning on keeping it stock, any low ash synthetic injector oil will work. I had really good results with the belray si7 oil for a stock motor setup.
