METRAKIT BBK vs..???
i ran across a metrakit brand bbk and did a little research and apparantly they are supposed to be on the same level as polini and malossi from some other websites in the small cc gp class moto racing.. has anyone had experience with this brand and their reliability and performance? and how do they stack up against the big dogs like polini and malossi ..

Re: METRAKIT BBK vs..???
Metrakit bores have been around for a whille. They are on the same level as F.M, charmo, and ruima. If you want a good reliable bore go with the malossi cast iron yoou can't go wrong

Re: METRAKIT BBK vs..???
they are made in spain though instead of taiwan like the others right? i was looking at the pics on a website and the boost port looked much larger than the tai bbks... like the polini and the malossi's.. so as far as iron bbks go the malossi makes the most power?

and on provoscooter.com it says ruima is manufactured by malossi... thats weird..i guess that speaks of ruima's quality a bit.

Re: METRAKIT BBK vs..???
if they r the same as stock boost port y are people porting or grinding them out ? do the other bbks come with the boost ports the same size as stock.. it seems they would be bigger than the stock heads for more flow for the added displacement..but idk im new at this.. i read somewhere that people had to grind them out to flow more so they didnt overheat and such..

Re: METRAKIT BBK vs..???
and thanks for the info...i guess im down to 4 bbks. its between malossi iron, polini contessa, metrakit, or daywots kjt nikasil kit... do u know which of these would make the best power and be the most reliable/longevity/maintenance etc? they are all within $30 or so of each other in price so??

Re: METRAKIT BBK vs..???
word... well i guess ive narrowed it down to the polini or malossi u guys are gonna make me go broke..haha but hey as in almost anything i guess you get what you pay for...ive heard that on the nikasil malossi msr they have a tad better performance than the corsa , but i have also heard that the nikasil coating has been known to chip off on some of the msr kits... soooo id prob sacrifice the extra 800 rpm of performance for longevity and reliability. but on the other hand as far as iron bbks go malossi is supposed to be the absolute *! in longevity, performance everything even compared to the contessa...( and i dont want to spend the extra $100 so its prob gonna be the malossi iron from whoever has them the cheapest.. any suggestions?) i know red eft performance has em for a decent price. and sip scooters as well..?? thanks for the info guys, i just got this sa50 sr and have some biiig plans for it bc of this site and its members/ and well youtube as well..haha,, the elite ch 80 i have is my gas saver this will be my sleeper/toy.

Get the cast iron. If you seize it you can rehone and put another piston. The aluminums are toast once you mess it up
