Battery Tip / short bolts (66six)

Post by 66SIX »

Batteries are always a problem .
Here is a dumb tip .
On some batteries the screw will not reach the battery bolt terminal once the connector is on .
Here is what I do too solve the problem .
Take a small piece of foam cut it a little larger than the terminal hole .
stick it and the nut / lug into the terminal hole / The foam will hold the nut in place .
No more messing around trying to catch the threads in the nut or having them fall out if you tilt the battery .
What could be simpler than this ?

My idea of using shrink tube or a drinking straw may not be simpler, but less likely to attract and hold moisture....besides, I use all my foam rubber to stuff sock-monkeys.... :hi:

Drinking straws do hold moisture thats what they are made to do ...
The shrink tube would shrink in Vegas summers 125 degrees.
Straws should be used to consume Myers & coke or foo foo drinks in Mexico .
You say you can't find foam it's everywhere you just need to look ...

I am using a straw in Mexico to retain moisture . Not to hold my nuts in a battery .

Your local dollar store will probably have foam. Sometimes they have foam floor tiles on the kids toy section, or in the craft section
