'94 elite cover gaskets

Post by johnny248 »

Trying to order some cover gaskets #4 and #5 for my '94 Sa50p but they list two different part numbers for each.

Which do I need?

Hey, there is only one part number that is currently being used for each gasket. Just order either one and they will ship the one they have in use currently. One of the numbers is an old, no longer used, part number. They are still the same part, not to worry.

you don't need #5
your better off running with that cover off
the clutch will get really hot on a modified motor

Really? Too hot to run normally? Even when using a finned or vented bell?

There isn't any worries about crap getting up into the clutch and CVT setup? Maybe slightly concerned about crud or water?

Are more guys not running that cover?

I don't think I've seen one built motor running the rear cvt cover. There's really nothing that could kick anything into the cvt since the tire is on the opposite side. All about a nice and cool clutch.

Lol oh yeah. Gotta drop that pound or two of aluminum :) I should leave the starter motor off also huh? It's redundant to have two starting mechanisms. Anyone do this?

I don't have a starter motor, or bendix. like you say, you don't need both. I also am not going to run the rear cover. But, I don't ride daily. I ride to tune, then put it away til the next time I pull it out to tune. There are only a couple times a year that I ride for fun, lately its been on one of Whiteys running scooters or mopeds
