Post by Tell me again »

Hi guys, first of all, first timer on this forum and im starting to like what i see!..I have a question about replacing my piston ring on my 84 Honda spree, one of them is shot and is the cause of all the smoke from the exhust. What i dont get is what piston ring on picture to get , standard 0.10-0.25 or serve limit 0.50?.I know they hard to get ,does anyone know where to get them or can i use a different ring or something similar, like a honda elite ring ?.Oh and the bore is in good condition

84 and 85 sprees have dished pistons the 86 and 87 have domed pistons. The head may hit on the domed piston on chopchop/tazland001 on here on ebay's piston because its the domed and not dished. I would ask him on ebay his name is chopcop*123

http://m.ebay.com/sch/i.html?sid=chopch ... efine=true

Ask him about this for I do not know off hand if will work without raising the head or swapping to a 86 or so head. Cheers

Yup. If you need a ring you should probably just do a rebuild or a cylinder swap to a big bore. It's about the same amount of work haha.

Like I said I am not sure for certain, but I would ask taz. It may be fine but I would have to agree with g9 to a point if the bore dosnt have any scratches your fingermail catches than just rehone and new rings and piston will do you.
