Dude, your carb sounds like a basket case.

The problem is not electrical, it's in the carb. Concentrate on fixing that.

Are you missing any other parts? This might be a good time to get out the digital camera and take some pics of the carb so we can see what you're working on.

I do have a filter.

I could take some pics. but where and how could I post them ??

One thing I did notice is that when I put the air/fuel screw in from the other is in the carb. cleaning instructions from this site said I should have about 1/4 of an inch visually coming through as you look through the carb. I only have about 3/16 of an inch coming through tightened up all the way. The spring is completly compressed. Hondaman you said that the needle should be 1 3/8 turns out after 86". So between the instructions and what you wrote I'm confused. Not trying to be a pain, Just trying to figure this thing out.

I said before that the carbs. similar. Even so maybe the carbs. are in some way different. Is there some were that I could find out what year I actually have and get a manual for it somwhere ??

Does any one know what year I have ?? I have written the serial # in a previous post.

Thanks for everyones patiants, you have all been very helpful! I get this thing goin' one way or another!!! Even if I got to bolt pull start on the foot rest.

Sorry for yet another novel.

BRYAN

THANKS,
BRYAN

the air screw is the bottom brass one with a flat head.

Set your air screw first --the one with the flat head
Then adjust your idle screw--its a phillips head on mine
Turning idle screw clockwise will increase the idle
Counterclockwise will decrease it

I would also recommend downloading the spree service manual under the
Technical Documents section on this sight.

I have, do you have a recomendation of what # page to look at ? I've looked at a # of them I did not see carb. instructions in it ?

I would like a page #.

I have done the complete overhale of the carb. as sugested in this forum. And as it said, make sure all lines are clear. I am pretty positive that all are clear !! I do not think the carb. is the problem. As far as I know, it is in good shape! I beleive it to be clean, very clean.

I may be wrong, but could it be that it starts with spark and then stops sparking? maybe am I right ?

Am I very wrong, no one has said this to me?

I will put a pull start on this damb thing, watch it'll go.

THANKS,
BRYAN

1-Have we all been assured of just what this thing is that we are working on?
2-After the carb was cleaned, could you see through the idle jet to verify it being open?

I took the carb back off and I can't see through but the carb cleaner comes out through one of those small holes right next to the intake. I don't think it goes strait through so you can see . ?

Yo Ripps.

The easiest way to post pics... would be to use snapfish or some other online posting service. I use snapfish and it is free unless you want to order prints from them or something.

http://www.snapfish.com This is a free site that will allow you to setup online albums and you can share them via email or through the links for free... In order to post them on this site, you first have to have them at an accessible URL (like snapfish) .

POSTING PICTURES ON HONDASPREE.NET
1. Go to snapfish (or similar website) and click on your picture you want posted.
* Important... right click (or control click for apple users) on the picture. and select VIEW IMAGE this will provide a unique link to the photo and not a link to the picture. Otherwise you will get a little image icon istead of your picture.*
2. Copy the URL
3. Return to the Hondaspree.net
4. Post Reply
5. Now for the fun part... When the reply page opens, post your comments naturally.
6. To post pic, click once on the "Img" button under the subject bar.
7. Now paste the URL that you previously have copied
8. Now click again the "Img" button.
9. And thats it...press preview and/or submit.

Thanks peter1sp,

I put it back together again after having it apart and now it don't want to start at all. :?

I'll try to post some pic's in a little while.
one of the hole bike
one of the engine
one of the #'s
a close up of the carb. (together on the bike)
one of it off
and one apart

If there is somthing else I should post you could let me know and I could get that one in at the same time.

Thanks,
BRYAN
