spree 30mph----------->25mph in one day

Post by spreeGR »

I have a 86 Spree with 3,100 miles on it. I bought it earlier this summer and it has been running great at 30+ mph.

Last week I stopped in a ACEtrue value and bought some generic 2 stroke oil. The spree ran with no problems.

Yesterday, I put another small container of the truevalue oil in the spree and today I can only top out at 25mph.

Sorry for the lack of info...... but do you have any ideas as to what could cause me to lose 5mph overnight?

You need INJECTOR OIL! regular premix crap wont do.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

using anything besides good "moped" injector oil will be the death of that bike! Well not really death, but bad oil wil cause excessive carbon build up in the exhaust port, head, and exhaust..
do your bike a favor and buy some thing good for her!

OK OK I guess I blew it with the generic crap........ Ha ha

After draining the bad oil out, is there anything (quick and easy) I should do to clean it before I put the new oil in?

Thanks in advance

Nope, just put new oil in and bleed the line.
