HELP! lost air-skrew
I was fidling around with my air skrew today, to see what setting gave me best power. I set it out alot, but made d*** sure it was in enough to stay in (but obviously not enough). So I went down the road, and after about 300' my engine started sounding odd. So I stopped and saw that my air-skrew was gone. I drove back home, and when I was iddling, my Spree was puffing black!.
-HOW bad is running it without an air-skrew.
-WHAT size is it.
-WHERE the * can I get a new one.

Check powersports.pro.com - they are about $12.00
There's also an eBay store in Canada I've ordered aftermarket carb rebuild kits from:
http://myworld.ebay.com/siriusconincnosparts/
They sold me Keyster carb rebuild kits, mine had o-rings, bowl gasket, idle screw, idle mixture screw and carb float needle for around $20 USD.

Seems to me, a missing air screw would make you lean at idle/low speed. Don't know how you got black smoke (sounding rich...)

Well see, when you unscrew an air screw you're adding fuel to the mix between 0 to about 1/3 throttle, so all the way out is the richest position that could be in, so no too much fuel is more like it. Which would explain the plumes of black smoke. black = richSprEE*MP* wrote:So,
-No air-skrew = to much air??? = won't hurt engine???
