Would it not be getting enough air now? It doesn't bog down, nor does it seem to lose any power.![]()

New plug run at WOT for about a minute should tell the story. Shut the bike off at WOT.

What would I be observing at that point? I know the spark plug, but would it be burned/discolored?

Re: so I decided to get rid of the air box
So I am attempting that test now with the new plug, but I'm stumped as to what kind of wrench/ socket it is to remove the plug? Any help?
Re: so I decided to get rid of the air box
spark plug socket, 13/16 deep well I think. one made for spark plugs have a rubber insert that helps to keep from breaking the ceramic part.

Re: so I decided to get rid of the air box
The plug chop was done with a new spark plug, and the result is a little bit of oil, very light tan mostly, a little bit of black where the metal part folds over the tit, and a little bit of brown below the space between the tit and the metal part that it goes over.

Way too lean still, if you did the plug chop properly.

Re: so I decided to get rid of the air box
I used a new plug, held it wide open throttle for 1 min, then cut the engine at wide open throttle. Ill do a second test tomorrow and maybe hold it a little longer? I have been adding extra oil to the gas after i did that test to be on the safe side.Bear45-70 wrote:Way too lean still, if you did the plug chop properly.
