Let the beatings begin... LOL just kidding. What is the stock roller weight supposed to be, I'm just curious. I've just started playing with my variator on my aero so I've been watching this thread.

Greetings:

Both my unmolested Aeros, one '87 and one '86, had 10 gram white roller weights when I cracked open the grease cover.

you are running .40 thick reeds so that will restrict flow some. stock is closer to .25-.30 thick carbon reeds on how it flexes. 87 elite 50 came with 10g rollers.
Nothing like getting stroked!

Greetings:

As Bakaracer suggested, .4 is pretty thick, thus stiff. If that stiffness resists bending in the airflow - which is the only reason the reeds leave the plate, they choke the effective intake port area and so limit RPM. Just a thought.

im running my stock 3 petle reads as of now ....
still wood like to no what i can do to raise my (6660 ) rpm and speed..
this weekend is going to be good weather so im planing to try a fue things but one at a time ..
check the compression ( book said 114 -171 ) put on the mill head and try the home made pipe??? because ive have never try it with the heaver rollers ... i may even try my one petle read with the 0.4 mm stock on it .. becase none of these tack long to do ....

Greetings:

Does the tach go to 6600 whenever you open the throttle wide? Or is that a max RPM at top speed?
Either the engine is lacking power altogether, or something else is preventing it from getting to its optimal RPM.
Intake restricted somehow - a gummed-up air filter - or carbon-caked exhaust?
A very weak Contra spring in the driven pulley can do that too, along with too-heavy rollers.
Even a stock Spree should want to rev higher than 6600. Something's not right.
