Mag puller. Any body know where I can order the tool?

Post by dem0nk1d »

I'm in need of ordering a mag puller. I've tried a few ways to get the mag off and it's just frozen. I've searched a few websites and can't find the correct puller. Anyone have any links to the correct one?

I've tried the hammer method which has failed.

Hopefully someone else will chime in and confirm this!

Mine is left hand thread. I bought it originally for a Yamaha scooter, also works on Spree/Elite/Gyro/Aero flywheels. It measures approx 1.065" which is right for 27mm.

The model below looks to be same as what I have but double check & measure your threads.

I just went out and measured my SA50 AF05e engine and it comes out as 24mm x 1mm RH.

Maybe the Dio engine is different? If anyone has a Dio manual we can check against the Honda tool which is

07733-0010000 or
07793-0230000

for the pre-'94

you are correct 24mm x 1.0 RH. I just went to this motorcycle shop near the house and they had the tool. it worked like a champ after i changed out center allen hex bolt with a normal 9/16 head on it. Sucker makes a loud popping sound as it comes off. I thought I snapped the bolt. =)

I'll post pictures. And do a write up on the tool for the tech write up section.

Clivester and dem0nk1d,
Good work on the measurements. I've been checking out things tonight too. I have several Honda flywheels, which do use a 27mm LHand thread, yet the manuals call out the same puller - 00733-0010000. So measuring before buying as you did is wise. I wonder if the Honda shop tool has different adaptors?

Pic below shows an AF05 engine on the left (24mm RH thread), and a 27mm LH thread flywheel on the right.

Yeah :)

mouse: you got any tips on splitting the case? i'm using a steering wheel puller that looks like a chickens foot. =) not joking at all, that what it reminds me of. then running two head bolts with two rollers as spacers, bolted into the stator holes. keep bending head bolts. =) No bueno!

For case splitting, I'm at the stone age. You might have luck with the following - break the gasket loose, then drill scrap plywood to mount to the case, and to give an spaced set of holes for a 3 jaw puller.
