Oil Light On For Some Reason

Post by Sparrow »

My husband was riding my 86 Spree back and forth to work and then all of a sudden on a trip home, the oil light came on. I have brand new oil in it and it doesn't look to me like it needs anymore. Plus when I have the moped up on the stand, the light will go off and on depending on which direction I tip the bike (backwards or forwards). Is something clogged or do I just need to clean the filter or what? Should I just drive it off of the pier and be done with it? I'm not sure.

Fill the tank the rest of the way up, this should fix it. Otherwise it's a sender problem.

perhaps it is the wires that go to the oil tank, maybe they arent connected properly or maybe the wires are shot...

yeh, this is the most common thing that happens. Even if it looks half full, it still might not be enough for the sensor.
projects galore :nerd:
