From reading here, the carb numbers vary by year but they interchange freely. The Spree carb is quite different from the Aero/Elite carb physically. The bystarter is on the opposite side of the venturi, so an Aero carb can foul the shock. Even though they might fit. I suspect the Spree carbs won't work on the Elite/Aero engines due to a very small pilot orifice - cast-in to the body.
Thanks for the answer as I am looking at the interchange of an 85 to an 87 Spree. The parts fiche from my local Honda shop shows different P/N's. I understand the differences in the variated AF motor and the non varied Spree carbs.

The flywheel from an 84 will work with the alternator coil from an 86 so no need to swap the coils/flywheel as a pair! Got pics if needed.

The spree has two different gears. the earlier is 12 tooth and the later has 13 tooth but the big gears stayed at 82 tooth for all years. The 12 tooth has a limited speed of 25mph.
Have 4, 84-86 Sprees
Sprite-85 Honda spree
-87 elite 50 engine
-90 jet
-9 and 10 gram rollers
-Highly ported intake and exhaust
-custom performance muffler
3 original sprees. A red, black and white

Need some help on this 86 Honda spree I put a carburetor in from a 87 Honda spree. Now I can’t keep it running I adjust the air mixture screw and nothing happens. And when I give it full throatle it dies. Any idea
I replaced the carburetor cause I put the long screw in where the short one goes will that cause a problem ?

Search for air leaks.
Make sure the airbox is tightly sealed.

yes. they both are 95mm drum brakes and shaft and spline count are the same on early dios. I think I read here at a certain year the changed the shaft diameter. I don't remember what year though. I believe variated af05 axle shafts are the same a 93-98? dio. I don't remember if its 98 or later. I have test tried an aero on both 93, & 94 af16 ive had and an af18 (year unknown). fit all of these fine
