washers are easy take a pennie out of your pocket and a quater go to hardware store, then find 17 pennies and stack them up and messure how tall they are and get a bolt a lil longer so you can fit the washers that are on the out side too!bartle90 wrote:How did this work out for you and what size bolt/washers did you use?
That's how I did it. I think a quarter was too big so I found a washer slightly smaller than a quarter and then I just bought like 20 washers the size of pennies. Don't remember how many I used.fastplastic wrote:washers are easy take a pennie out of your pocket and a quater go to hardware store, then find 17 pennies and stack them up and messure how tall they are and get a bolt a lil longer so you can fit the washers that are on the out side too!bartle90 wrote:How did this work out for you and what size bolt/washers did you use?
They make rubber caps for that and a tie strap to hold it or if you are insecure and hose clamp. The screw and JB or epoxy is to permanent for my tastes. A cheap and quick was is a short piece of hose then a screw into the hose, with the option of a tie or a clamp. But I have never had a screw come out in 50 years.Bugaboo wrote:what's good to cap the oil inlet to the manifold? And how much would you up jet when you premix? Se50 starts with an 85.
Just use hardening gasket sealer or Loc-tite. JB is a poor choice for a place that is going to go through heat cycles.Bugaboo wrote:Just did a pressure test with my oil plug today and it definitely leaks. Put stock pump in with inlet and outlet attached together with hose. Pressure at oil plug good now. I think the failure in my design is sealing the threads in the bolt. Maybe i'll put some jb weld on it and see how it holds. Also suspect the stock bolt that holds the stock pump in doesn't do well holding in the plug.
For the intake side, which is low pressure, actually low vacuum, you can use fuel resistant RTV.Bugaboo wrote:Hey Bear. I'm looking for a good sealant/gasket maker for manifold. I know most gasket makers are not rated for contact with gas
doesn't the oil pump need to be lubricated? hate to see it come apart inside the case. Check with the more knowledgable people here on the forum to be sure..Bear45-70 wrote: Put stock pump in with inlet and outlet attached together with hose.
