won't start after cleaning & installing carburetor.

Post by emerg »

My Honda Spree (1986) was starting, running for a short time, then stopping. I removed the carburetor and cleaned it. The vacuum hoses and fuel lines are not blocked. I know the spark plug is OK because it started. After I put the carburetor back in, it no longer started at all, no life in it. If I did something wrong with the carburetor, what would it most likely be to yield the results I obtained. (I did not use a pin to open the carb. ports, I let it soak).

Check the vacuum fuel shutoff valve to start with. Make sure fuel is getting to the carb. Draw vacuum on lower hose and check for fuel flow from top hose at the valve.
