i've searched heaps and heaps and i cant find the original thread, where it tells you how to start your spree with a drill! is someone able to give me the link.

my starter motor has worn bushes, and ive taken it apart it looks near buggared. any tips on how to fix a starter motor if not, someone pass me a drill!

Try the buy & sell section here or ebay, starter motors are not rebuildable.

its pretty simple. take a 1/2 POWERFUL drill and a 3/4 extension. cut the female end off. (its hardened, so you will need a grinder) use the proper socket to fit the flywheel side. this should not run too long, since this would eliminate the fan. you can find a good used starter for around $30 on ebay. thats your best bet.

I know guys on this site have found brush sets for that motor and rebuilt them... do a search on brushes. More a matter of whether it's worth the effort. You can try ebay or contact Greg at uspmale@yahoo.com, who should have a few of these.
