Faulty Fuel Valve

Post by gman75 »

My auto-fuel valve is stuck in the open position... so there is gas in the lines even when the scooter is off. Will this affect performance? I am tuning the carb and seem to be running rich all the time.

It will flood the carb and cause it to over flow.

some people run gravity feed. But yours is unlike a 28 which you set set the float properly to sut off fuel coming in to the carb.

It *may* flood the carb and dump gas on the ground if your float shutoff quits working, but it would do that anyway. You have 3 options:

1) buy a new one, new or used
2) install a lawnmower-type manual shutoff
3) leave it alone

For #3, if you ride seasonally you should plug the carb line and drain the carb b/f storage.
