Anyone keen on what gauge wire for the battery? 10? 12? 14? certainly not 18.

bogs out around 22 or so because of the "ghetto" air cleaner i'm using. I placed a bid on a stock one from ebay and thanks for the email address for parts, i will contact him too.

Any definitive answer on what gauge wire the battery takes?

Yeah, I checked the manual, maybe I missed it, but I don't think it says anything about wire gauges. Noise?

Can you measure the wire that's there, or is it totally missing?

My guess? 12 or 14 gauge, thicker is always better. I'd just get the heaviest braided wire that your local shop sells (it will be 10 or 12 gauge) in a few colors (red, black, green maybe) and run that.

So, I ended up getting a 12 for the battery; and I figured out that the original wire was a 14. The repairs went smooth as some of the wiring had been overloaded or something, it was all melted together. I am going to test all of the electrical s*** and make sure that nothing is going to cause that to happen again. I'm getting a spark out of it though, and the starter is working as well.

Now, all I need to get is gas to the engine, and it should start. Hopefully I will have enough compression.

everything is good except I'm not getting gas out of the tank. I installed clear fuel line--that's how I know. I'm going to troubleshoot this, I'll let you guys know what happens.
