1984 Elite xl?

Post by salman »

Hi all, i'm new getting ready to go pickup a honda elite scooter, but the guy said it was a 1984. I don't see anywhere listing a 1984 honda elite scooter. 1988 is first year? here is a picture of the front.

Greetings:

It may be an '88. There should be a sticker on the frame confirming.

Without seeing the sides, it's impossible to be sure. However it looks like an SA50 Elite model. Early-year models of the SA carried the "LX" suffix. I guess Honda-san thought S and SR sounded racier... If so it has the variated AF05E block (SE/05) with pretty good mod potential if you ever want more-than-stock performance.

Most of my money is spent on scooterparts. The rest is just wasted.

It is an 88' (thank you) yes I do want to mod it a little bit. You have a good site you can recommend? I will also show my progress thru resto. It's for my wife for her 37th birthday.

What can be done to these to get better performance. I guess its a little confusing. Is there a bigger motor that will bolt in to this bike? :*:

Yes it would. Would hook into wire harness without any problem.

From my roller-coaster ride with the Af05, i wish i had just dropped in a dio from the start. As it stands now, the kymco zx50 engine that i have in there pulls well up to 40+ with very little tuning.

Might be a good option. I was looking also at a motor from a guy here in the forums that has an engine and tranny out of a an 87' carb and all for 160.00 shipped. I wonder how i can find a deal on a Dio. plus I onder if any of the Tampa guys can give me some help on it. Im new to these scooters. I will do some research on the dio as well.

Then ride it and you can sell the left overs of your '88.
