Need Help malossi leaking base gasket

so the other day i decided to test for intake leaks using carb cleaner around the manifold to case and cylinder to case (i dont know if that was the correct way to do it but i was very gentle with the spraying)

anyway found that when i sprayed between the manifold and the cylinder the bike would die out.

Your bore isn't touching your intake manifold, is it? I had a stage 6 (Koso) intake mani that set right against my corsa bore... What gasket are you using; paper or aluminum? I always coat my gasket surfaces in a very light coat of hondabond before installing...

I had to remove some material from my intake as well, to let the cyl. fit flat. but that was on a 50mm tazland001 bore.

Hmm. You sure theres no cracks at the base of the bore? or in your intake manifold or the block from tightening it to much? It shouldnt be the actual gasket thats the problem..What kind of block are you using?

What area do you live? Maybe could check it out.

x2 for the Hondabond or I sometimes used the copper RTV sealant...

probably need to put heli coils in place of stripped threads. Even if the torque wrench clicks at 8. Since it won't click at 10 the threads are pretty much gone, and will probably give you problems down the road.. don't know if drilling and tapping to a 1/4x28 would work or not.

.what is that? how does it work? and where can i get it? .

i really dont want to have to replace my block
