2002 Elite 80 - hard to start.

when cold, this scooter takes about 3-4 minutes to crank. once warm - it restarts instantly. any ideas welcomed. thanks.

How does it run? That happened to me and the compression was low. It took me forever to get it started and once it was warm it always started right back up. Just a thought.

it runs pretty good - it has a little hesitation going from 20-30 ... just slow there a little. i had the comression checked and it's good ... top speed about 40. 41-42 on a good day, 39 in a head wind with a back pack on, maybe 38. but it's a runner ... not as nice as my Elite 150 so it's relagated to short jaunts for now ...

Bystarter is not working properly.

@ rvschulz.....agree with Bear, bystarter possible defective.....OR....port into bystarter well in bottom of carb bowl is plugged....easy fix.....My Elite 80 is '85 with 4k+ miles and does 45mph WOT on flat with rider= 200 lbs......................
