1980 Honda Express 2?
Anyone know anything about a 1980 honda express 2 moped... My friend is having a real struggle with it.
What it's doing is it takes gas right in but spews it right out the overflow on the carb. Then it's flooding before we even give it gas. Like when we get it started (takes about an hour) it's good to go, but if you let it sit, you're boned. Anyone? Ideas?

sounds like the petcock is stuck wide open, take the fuel line that leads from the tank to carb off at the tank and see if gas is constantly coming out,if it is then the petcok is leaking,if it aint then check the float in the carb.
But either way gas from the tank should not be constantly running with the bike not running!

Yeah the petcock is kinda messed up, it drips when its on the off position but we got it running now (cleaned the carb and all the jets) but the whole "Doesnt stop spewing gas" thing is still wrong... It doesnt flood when its running but you kill that thing and its all gate aflow. So yeah the float makes alot of sence, its just I didnt want to break something that wasnt broke without someone else's input.

You need a new float valve, may a float too (see if it's still good.)Mormonmopedmaifa wrote:Yeah the petcock is kinda messed up, it drips when its on the off position but we got it running now (cleaned the carb and all the jets) but the whole "Doesnt stop spewing gas" thing is still wrong... Run a fuel filter to keep the float valve seat from getting crud in it.
