check compression. are you running the stock oil pump ir premix? its a safe bet if you use the stock pump mix around 1 oz in the tank

Iceman, you might have to reset the idle adjustment again and air/fuel screw. Check the needle clip if you haven't already but that is mostly for mid to top end range. Be sure all passages are clean! Do not over oil, only 32:1 is necessary. You may have fouled the plug by the way. Run about 8 or 10 tanks of fuel before WOT. I was running stock keihin carburetor but temps were too high for my comfort, even with 100 main jet. 66cc's is about a 30% increase in volume of air movement. Don't think the little keihin quite cuts the mustard despite what you read on the forum. I went to 19mm oko and all is well with 42 pilot/ 120 main jet, needle clip in the center. My temps are 325 mild cruise and 360-375 on a wide open run. Best of all is the idle is maintained by the pilot jet which is too small on the stock keihin carburetor. Talk too motormike or wheelman-111 about the pilot mod for the stock keihin. Best of luck! 8)

Why? The needle has nothing to do with starting

i changed the spark plug. the other one fouled. i checked the needle in the carb and the clip was off. so i put everything back and it starts perfect but wont stay running unless i give her some throttle.

Greetings:

I suggest the easiest-first approach. Swapping to a new plug was a good idea.
Now remove the airbox cover and examine the element for missing chunks of foam. One of them may be lodged in your reed petal. The other fouled your plug?

Greetings:

If a scooter is running well and stops suddenly and won't re-start, there's not a reason in the world to go mucking about with a carb that was adjusted correctly before. Listen to the symptoms! Sheesh!!

true. but the clip on the needle was off so i needed to put that back on. but you're right about messing around w/ the screws. there's no need for that. as for the filter, it looks and feels brand new. and it should bc i just put it on about 3 days ago.
